PROJECT ENGINEER Position Overview
We are seeking entry-level to senior-level Engineers to fulfill growth needs that we have. A minimum of a BS or AS degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology is required from an ABET accredited program. We have a wide diversity of customers that cover the breadth of Engineering and will consider most Engineering field specialties. Background fields of our employees have included: Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Bio-Medical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Architecture.
We require energetic self-starters who are detail oriented and have a great attitude. You will be responsible for end to end customer support of projects and will be the face of the company. Strong communication skills are required. This is a fast paced environment where you will directly impact the bottom line. You will be working on teams or independently on projects that typically last from 1 day to 3 months. Work typically involves 50% hands-on and 50% analysis type work in a professional environment. Dress is casual while in the lab.
Some travel is required. We have a relatively large staff and spread out the travel between us. We estimate that travel will generally not exceed a couple of days a month unless you have a desire/penchant for travel.

Essential Job Functions
Our current engineering services include Advanced data collection techniques, Reverse Engineering, Metrology, Training in any of our proficiencies, BIM, Tolerance Stacking Analysis, Design (fixture, gage, and product), Expert Witness support, and others.
Continuous Learning – We employ the most advanced technology and software available. You will need to stay up to speed on many technologies. Since these are new and cutting edge technologies you will be trained in them sequentially. We want each employee to be proficient with each of the technologies we employ and one CAD package. Once trained, you will be given projects in each area periodically to maintain skill levels. Training is done internally by experts in the field. Technologies that are required to be learned include Portable CMMs, Laser Scanning, Structured Light Systems, Fixed CMM, Industrial Computed Tomography (CT), Long Range Laser Scanning, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and advanced print interpretation, 1D and 2D measurement tools and the software related to each technology. We are continuously exploring and adding the most advanced technologies.
CAD – Reverse Engineering / Modeling / Drawing Work – You will be assigned a CAD platform to become proficient with. If you already have experience in a CAD platform, it is likely that will be your CAD platform. About 70% of our CAD/Design work is platform neutral. The balance of our work requires a specific CAD platform.
Metrology – We are an ISO 17025 certified inspection source and do perform inspections for our customers to their FAI, PPAP and GR&R requirements.
Customer and Internal Training – We train our customers in any technique that we use. We are also responsible for training our Engineering Co-ops and each other as we gain new methods/techniques.
Report Writing – Many of our projects require reports. These are to be professional, beautifully written and visually captivating reports. We are a service and excellent work has brought us much repeat business and the need for these new positions.
Quoting – Once you gain proficiency in various areas you will be asked to provide quote information for your jobs and jobs that others may do. This is an essential responsibility as it directly affects profitability. As a service, we must turn our customer’s request for quotes very quickly.
Other Job Functions
Professional work has many other tasks and responsibilities that would be hard to enumerate. We expect our Engineers to be willing to do any task asked of them. Among these are rotating responsibilities for PM work and lab cleanliness which each team member takes part in including our president. Our lab is a showplace for our customers and their customers. It is a requirement for all of our staff to keep all parts of the lab in this pristine condition.
Previous Experience That Would be Helpful
The work that we do is very diverse and the equipment that we employ is cutting edge. Because of the diversity of our customer base, we can put to use most Engineering backgrounds. While we would not expect many people to have experience in all of these areas that we cover, the following would be helpful:
- Previous CAD experience with any of the following software: UG/NX, SolidWorks, Pro/E-Creo, CATIA, Revit, ACAD
- An advanced Engineering degree
- Project management background
- P.E. or EIT/FE
- Previous background in: Quality, Design, Manufacturing
- Volume Graphics or PolyWorks experience
- Previous Military experience
- Current or former security clearances
- Experience in any of the technologies that we employ
